A QUIETER WAY TO KEEP TRACK

Fits around the way you work.

Keep editing in the applications you already use. Checkpoint takes care of the saved-file history.

01

Choose your folders

Add a working folder and a separate history folder. Keep file content on your own disk, external storage, or a suitable network folder.

02

Save as usual

Checkpoint watches for saved changes and captures useful versions. Name or pin a checkpoint when a moment deserves to stay.

03

Find your way back

Browse history beside a file, then restore a saved version. Checkpoint verifies the stored content and preserves your current saved work first.

A HISTORY THAT BELONGS TO YOU

Local first.
Ready when you need it.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Simple expectations. Useful history.

Does Checkpoint save unsaved edits?

Checkpoint captures saved file content. Edits still in an application’s memory are outside its history. Save your file in its normal application to make those changes eligible for capture.

Can I work without an internet connection?

Yes, after initial account setup and email verification. Local capture and restore remain available while services are unreachable or a token has expired. Explicit sign-out stops monitoring until you sign in again.

What do I need to restore a version?

Your local database and its history storage must be available. Close the file in its editing application before restoring. Checkpoint verifies the selected content and preserves the current saved file before replacement.

Which platforms and files are supported?

The desktop application runs on Windows with the .NET 8 Desktop Runtime. It keeps saved-byte history for eligible files, excluding temporary and linked files. Application save and storage behavior can affect capture; specialized Office analysis covers supported content rather than every possible feature.
